2-1 Discussion Tracking Your Product

Q After reviewing the assigned resources, address the following: • How would your chosen product be affected by the changing seasons? • If your product is not affected by seasonal demand, how would your company dispose of excess inventory due to a forecasting mistake? • Finally, list two demand forecasting constraints that exist within the supply chain of your product. Note: The information you gather to answer these questions, and the steps you take to do so, will assist you with the completion of Milestone One, which is due next week. In responding to your peers’ posts, do you see any other angles your peers could take to react to seasonal demand (or excess inventory)? Do you see any additional issues that could affect the product during the change of seasons? Explain and support your views. Refer to the Discussion Rubric for directions on completing these discussions.

I had chosen the retail grocery products of branded retail organizations and I think that the retail grocery products would be affected in great magnitude by the changing seasons. When the weather is excessively dry, the retail grocery products can become excessively dried up and the level of moisture and water content can become excessively low (Rushton et al. 2014). Therefore, there would be the requirement of keeping the retail grocery items in mild temperatures and in cold storage during excessively dry seasons. This is because the retail grocery items would have to be kept in a mild state of freezing.
